SUSTAINABLE VINEYARD – VIGNOBLE RESPONSABLE®
Nestling between the villages of Saint-Julien-de-Beychevelle and Pauillac, of Moulis and Margaux, our vineyards are planted on gravel stratum dating from the 1st tertiary period and the quaternary. Our desire is to perpetuate and pass on four centuries of history, and we have therefore adopted sustainable viticultural practices in order to protect the fragile ecosystems of these ancient terroirs.
Our initiative began in 1999 when the innovative decision was taken to adopt Certification in order to assure clients of the Quality of our wines in the context of European scandals in the food industry.
Over the years constant improvements have been made, a new management system has been put in place, respect for the environment has clearly become a great priority, and staff training a positive factor in our development. Year in and year out we have obtained and maintained Iso 9001, ISO 14001 and Reasoned Agriculture certifications. Risk management is now a major aspect in our business strategy. All our actions are designed to guarantee the equilibrium of our Sustainable Development policy.
In 2010 our policy was rated ‘Exemplary’ at the level of AFAQ 26000 Sustainable Development by Afnor. We are the very first European vineyard to obtain this level of recognition.

COMMERCIALISATION & SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
We support the local infrastructure with the opening in May 2011 of our Boutique at the chateau and the organisation of visits to our properties. We also apply this precept to the commercialisation of our wines.
